Under the headline "Target Zero – a State of Mind", events were held both in Rødbyhavn at Upper Bassin A and in Puttgarden at the new viewing platform. More than 400 employees participated – all with one common goal: to strengthen the safety culture and reduce the risk of fall accidents.
“The aim of these events is to raise awareness of the risks associated with working at heights – and at the same time strengthen the ability to recognize dangerous situations before they arise,” says Morten Christian Petersen, Project HSE Manager at Sund & Bælt.
When working on scaffolding, ladders, or containers, the consequences of a fall are often severe – and can change both lives and futures. That’s why the focus was placed on specific situations and behaviors that can make a difference:
- Proper use of ladders and scaffolding
- The importance of keeping distance from edges without railings
- Safety when working on containers
- And not least: the value of being a good colleague and safety ambassador
The message is clear:
Safety is not just about rules and equipment. It’s about people, behavior – and taking responsibility for one another.
“We must constantly remind each other that safety starts with ourselves – and with each other,” concludes Morten.
The event was aimed at employees who work daily with construction and infrastructure, and its purpose was to provide them with practical tools and knowledge about the risks relevant to their specific tasks.
