Femern A/S is a 100 per cent Danish state-owned company tasked with planning, building and operating the fixed link across the Fehmarnbelt between Denmark and Germany.

Femern A/S is a 100 per cent state-owned project company under Sund & Bælt

In April 2009, Femern A/S was appointed by the Minister of Transport to undertake preparations, studies and the planning of a fixed link across the Fehmarnbelt.

This was done on the basis of the "Act on the Planning of a Fixed Link across the Fehmarnbelt with Associated Landworks".

On 28 April 2015, the Folketing (the Danish Parliament) passed the proposed Construction Act for the fixed link across the Fehmarnbelt and the Danish landworks. The Act authorised the state-owned companies, Femern A/S and A/S Femern Landanlæg, to establish and operate a fixed link across the Fehmarnbelt and the associated landworks in Denmark.

As a client organisation, Femern A/S has around 160 employees working from our offices in Copenhagen, Rødbyhavn, Hamburg, Burg and Puttgarden.

Femern A/S is a subsidiary of the Danish and state-owned Sund & Bælt.
