Pedestrians-Machinery Interactions on the agenda at Safety Days 2023

In the next two weeks, one of the main contractors Femern Link Contractors (FLC) is hosting their annual Safety Days and this year’s topics are Change Management and Pedestrians-Machinery Interactions.

FLC’s Safety Days kicked off 22nd May and several activities are taking place on site during week 21-22 to raise awareness and prevent accidents and incidents. Activities are led by FLC’s HS&WE personnel and execution personnel.

The headline of one of the activities is blind spots around mobile plants. FLC’s HS&WE Manager Vincent Le Roy explains the reason behind putting extra focus on this: “We have many heavy machines driving here, so we make sure our staff protect themselves. Our overall challenge is to keep our construction site safe and sorted for everyone working there, and our Safety Days is one of many HSE initiatives to achieve the goal.”

Femern A/S has contributed with safety communication material about pedestrians and heavy vehicles on site. Head of HSE from Femern A/S, Gintaras Vagelas says:

“We have been in dialogue with FLC about their Safety Days to offer our support and contribute in any way, we can. We have the same goal that everyone gets home safe, so we applaud their efforts in improving the safety culture on site”.
