The newly established nature trail, which stretches over 2 kilometres from the exhibition in Rødbyhavn to Pilen, offers a unique opportunity to get up close to the construction of the world's longest immersed tunnel while experiencing the beautiful, varied nature surrounding the project.
It is a good idea to start your visit at the Sund & Bælt exhibition centre, where you can learn about the construction of the Fehmarnbelt tunnel. From here, you can set off on the nature trail, which takes you through everything from wild railway terrain to ponds and a boardwalk that winds its way through wetlands and reed beds. The tour ends at the viewing platform "Pilen", where you can enjoy the view of the construction site.
Recently, Sund & Bælt project manager Ditte Hjort invited Michael Løvendal Kruse, member of the executive committee of the Danish Nature Conservation Association and representative of the Fehmarnbelt project, to join her on the nature trail. They shared their experiences and thoughts about the project and the area.
See their trip in the video below.
