Information for neighbours
The construction of the Fehmarnbelt tunnel takes in a large area, on both land and sea. In the area around Rødbyhavn, you will have an active construction site nearby for several years, which may, at times, cause nuisances such as noise, dust and more traffic on local roads.
As the Client on this extensive construction project, Femern A/S wishes to keep our neighbours informed about the work throughout the construction phase, including any major activities and inconvenience it may cause along the way.
We strive to limit the nuisance as much as possible
We require the contractors to comply with noise limits, how and when work is done as well as good 'housekeeping' standards. We monitor compliance with these requirements.
We have launched a range of initiatives to limit noise nuisance as much as possible. These include:
- Excessive work noise from driving, sheet-piling etc. is forbidden outside normal working hours
- There is an upper limit to how much noise the work can cause that varies according to time of day
- The contractor is required to use less noisy machinery and equipment
- The contractor is required to be able to document noise from the machinery used
