Tenders for the electrical and mechanical installations

Femern A/S has sent out information about the forthcoming tender processes.

The tunnel project’s construction phase is progressing with the establishment of the work harbour at Rødbyhavn. Construction of the work harbour at Rødbyhavn was initiated on 1 November 2019 and the contract comprising construction activities on Danish territory and especially the establishment of the tunnel element factory on Lolland will enter into effect on 1 January 2021.

As well as work on the tunnel itself, the coming years will see major contracts being signed for the execution of all the electrical and mechanical installations in the tunnel (TEM-contract) – its internal workings – and the establishment of a new transformer station east of Rødbyhavn to supply the tunnel and the electric trains with electricity (TPS-contract).

On 10 July 2020, Femern A/S published Prior Information Notices. These announce the commencement of the tender process and set out the general details of the two tenders to give the market the opportunity to prepare for the tendering, including the creation of consortia etc.

The Prior Information Notices (PIN) are published in the EU’s Official Journal:

PIN for the TEM-contract

PIN for the TPS-contract

As part of the tender process, Femern A/S plans to hold an Industry Day in Copenhagen at the end of 2020 when the project and the tenders will be presented to the interested parties.

Tender notices are expected to be issued by the end of 2020. Prequalification of the tenderers is scheduled to be completed by mid-2021, with contracts expected to be concluded by the second half of 2022.
