This privacy policy explains how Femern A/S (''we'' or ''us'') processes your personal data when you visit our website, subscribe to our newsletter or otherwise contact us.

a) Answering inquiries and other correspondence
Femern A/S processes your personal data when you contact us via our contact form, when you request a booking of lectures and when you contact the company’s employees directly by e-mail. 
In this connection, we process your personal data in order to respond to your inquiry or request and to be able to get in touch with you.
In this connection, we only process the information you choose to include in your inquiry.
The legal basis for the processing activity will, according to the specific circumstances, be Article 6 (1), litra a and/or f of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

b) Newsletter transmission
You can sign up for our newsletter on the company’s website. In this connection, we will process information about your name, e-mail and country, whether you open the newsletter and whether you click on its content.
The personal data is processed in order to be able to send you the newsletter and in order to optimize content.
The legal basis for the processing activity is Article 6 (1), litra a and f of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

c) Cookies 
Personal data is collected when you use our website. For more information see our Cookie policy.

3. SOURCES

In addition to the direct contact between you and Femern A/S, inquiries are also received via authorities such as LBV Kiel, Lolland Kommune and the Ministry of Transport or Environment. This occurs when you contact an authority concerning the Fehmarn project. 

4. RETENTION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

a) Answering inquiries and other correspondence
We will keep your personal data as long as the data are necessary for the purpose or purposes for which the data are being processed. Femern A/S regularly evaluates the necessity of the personal data in accordance with the applicable rules in this respect. However, laws, such as the Danish Bookkeeping Act and Limitations Act, may give us the right or obligation to keep information for a longer period of time.

b) Newsletter transmission
We keep your personal information as long as you subscribe to the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time. After having unsubscribed the newsletter, your personal data will be stored for a maximum of 1 month.

5. SECURITY

Femern A/S endeavours to protect your personal data in the best way possible and has implemented security measures for this purpose. In instances where Femern A/S uses data processors, processing is performed solely in accordance with Femern A/S’s instructions, and the data processor is required to treat the personal data confidentially and take the appropriate security measures against breaches of data security.
If you intend to send us sensitive personal information, it is recommended that you use encryption such as secure e-mail.

6. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the following rights:
• You have the right to request access, rectification or deletion of your personal data.

• You also have the right to oppose and limit the processing of your personal data.

• In particular, you have an unconditional right to oppose the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.

• You are entitled to withdraw your consent at any time if the processing of your personal data is based on this. Your withdrawal will not affect the legality of the processing carried out prior to the withdrawal of your consent.

• You have the right to receive the personal data you have provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (data portability).

• You can always submit a complaint to a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. the Danish Data Protection Agency.

These rights may be subject to conditions or limitations. Therefore, you may not have the right to, e.g. data portability for your specific case – this depends on the specific circumstances associated with the processing operations.
