The construction site at Puttgarden
On the German side, the construction site is much smaller than on the Danish side.
As on the Danish side, a construction site with a small temporary port will be established. The construction site on Fehmarn will lie due east of the existing ferry terminal.
The facilities at the site will not be taller than 40 m and therefore lower than the Rødby-Puttgarden ferries.
In contrast to Lolland, where the major production of the tunnel elements will take place, there will only be a construction site for the tunnel portal on Fehmarn.
Supplies via waterA temporary working harbour will be built on both the Danish and the German sides. Supplies and raw materials for the construction will, to a large extent – be delivered by sea. This will limit traffic to and from the site in order not to imapact the local roads more than necessary.
THE CONSTRUCTION SITE ON THE GERMAN SIDE IS SIGNIFICANTLY SMALLER THAN ON THE DANISH SIDE.
